This Friday is World Arthritis Day, called to draw attention to arthritis and inflammatory rheumatic diseases. Nearly 50 million people in the United States alone have a rheumatic disease. Please join us at 12:30 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 12 at #WorldArthritisDay for an hour-long discussion on these complex, painful and often-disabling conditions.
The chat will be moderated by TIME Magazine health writer Alice Park. Mayo Clinic rheumatologists Eric Matteson, M.D.; Ann Reed, M.D.; and Vai Chowdhary, M.D.; Mayo complementary medicine expert Amit Sood, M.D.; the American College of Rheumatology and the Arthritis Foundation will be online to take participants’ questions on rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis and other rheumatic conditions.
Use the hash tag #WorldArthritisDay to follow the chat and post your questions and comments. We hope to see you there!
