Join Us for an Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month Twitter Chat

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, held to draw attention to the nation’s leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers and the fifth leading cause of cancer death among U.S. women. Mayo Clinic invites the public to join the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition  and Mayo Clinic Cancer Center for a Twitter chat about ovarian cancer Tuesday, Sept. 18, moderated by USA Today health care journalist Liz Szabo.

The chat will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET. To join, please log into Twitter and follow hash tag #ovarianchat.

Mayo ovarian cancer experts Andrea Wahner Hendrickson, M.D.; Sean Dowdy, M.D.; and Jamie Bakkum-Gamez, M.D. will take part.

The chat will cover such topics as disease risk factors, treatments and support available for coping with ovarian cancer. Please join the conversation by tweeting your questions and comments throughout the chat and including #ovarianchat in your posts.
