She was the first patient blogger to attend as a member of the press, and Kelly Young, advocate for Rheumatology Arthritis patients, is attending The American College of Rheumatology Scientific Meeting again this year in Chicago November 5-9th. Her mission-Empower RA patients to advocate for improved diagnosis and treatment. In 2009, Kelly created the website, Rheumatoid Arthritis Warrior. Her leadership has earned her a position as an advisory board member with Mayo Clinic’s Social Media Health Network.
We caught up with Kelly recently in Minnesota where Mayo Clinic’s Center for Social Media hosted its Social Media Summit. She discussed her RA experience, what she hopes reseachers can learn from her at ACR, and her latest project.
